Jamie Lee Curtis has officially expressed her desire to secure a role in the upcoming second season of Netflix’s live-action adaptation of One Piece. The show’s creator, Matt Owens, fully supports her ambition.
One Piece, a fantasy adventure series co-developed by Owens and Steven Maeda, is based on Eiichiro Oda’s manga and benefits from his significant creative input.
The story follows Monkey D. Luffy and his Straw Hat Pirates as they journey through the Grand Line in search of the legendary “One Piece” treasure to claim the title of Pirate King. Curtis is keen on portraying Dr. Kureha, a character expected to play a prominent role in the upcoming season.
Curtis shared her intentions on Instagram, mentioning her willingness to lobby for the role once the strike against the AMTPT’s greed is resolved and a fair contract is established.
Owens responded to her post, assuring her that no lobbying would be necessary once they return to work, emphasizing the value of her involvement.
