The filming of Season 2 of the TV show The Old Man, which stars Jeff Bridges and is shown on FX, has been temporarily stopped. The crew received news this morning that today’s shoot, which would complete Episode 204, would be the last one for now. The plan was to continue filming until Episode 205, but due to the writers’ strike that began on June 2, the final script needed revisions. Production will remain on hold until the strike is resolved, and filming will resume at a later date.
Last Thursday, there were some delays in the production of the show The Old Man because the set in Santa Clarita was being protested. Jeff Bridges, accompanied by a producer, crossed the protest line in a van that day.
The Old Man is a TV show based on Thomas Perry’s popular book. It features a talented cast, including John Lithgow, Amy Brenneman, Alia Shawkat, E.J. Bonilla, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Bill Heck, Leem Lubany, and Pej Vahdat.
The series follows the story of Dan Chase, played by Jeff Bridges, who left the CIA many years ago and has been living off the grid. When an assassin comes after Chase, he realizes that in order to secure his future, he must confront his past.
The Old Man, created by Jonathan E. Steinberg and Robert Levine, had the highest ratings for a cable series premiere since January 2021. It outperformed 60 other dramas, comedies, and limited series on premium and basic cable.
The show is executive produced by Warren Littlefield, Jonathan E. Steinberg, Dan Shotz, Robert Levine, Jeff Bridges, David Schiff, and Jon Watts, who also directed the first two episodes. It is produced by 20th Television in association with The Littlefield Company.
