Which horses took the spotlight in Heartland season 4?

    Source: Horsey Hooves

In Heartland season 4, several horses take on the roles of the signature horses, depending on the scene’s requirements. For instance, Phoenix is primarily portrayed by Jag, a Quarter Horse, in most scenes. However, during jumping scenes, Conamore or Ghost step in. Complex scenes call for a trick-riding or liberty horse. This versatility ensures each fictional horse character is accurately depicted.

A remarkable exception is Spartan, who has been consistently portrayed by Stormy, a black Quarter Horse gelding, since the series’ inception. Stormy began his role at five years old and has gracefully aged to nearly 20. He’s known for his pleasant demeanor and enjoys spending time with the crew. Although Stormy is the primary Spartan, specific scenes have required the use of trick horses and specialized horses. For example, when Mallory had to jump Spartan, a sorrel gelding was painted entirely black for the scene’s needs.

What is Heartland season 4 about?

At the end of Heartland season 3, everyone’s dreams and opportunities led them down different paths. Amy embarked on the Ring of Fire tour, Ty set off to explore the world, Lou started a new life with her husband, Peter, in Dubai, and Tim pursued big money in California’s horse racing scene.

In Heartland season 4, we see people slowly returning to Heartland, yearning for the comfort of home and family, only to find that things have significantly changed. After experiencing the excitement of first love in Season Three, Ty and Amy’s young relationship will grow and mature, but not without confronting a misunderstanding that arose during their time apart.

Lou finds herself torn between her new life in Dubai and her deep love for Peter. While she’s still passionately in love with him, Dubai presents its own challenges, and she longs for the familiarity of home. Tim makes a return with substantial winnings and a new romantic interest.

And, as always, Jack remains the unwavering pillar of Heartland, tirelessly holding the family together through all the ups and downs.
